Kidwelly
Kidwelly is a community and neighborhood in Carmarthenshire, southwest Wales, roughly 7 miles (11 kilometres) northwest of one of the most heavily populated town in the county, Llanelli. In the 2001 census the community of Kidwelly returned a population of 3,289, enhancing to 3,523 at the 2011 Census. It lies on the River Gwendraeth over Carmarthen Bay. Regional tourist attractions include Kidwelly Castle, founded in 1106; a fourteenth-century bridge as well as entrance; the previous quay (now a nature book); a Norman parish church, as well as a commercial gallery. Kidwelly Carnival is an annual occasion held on the 2nd Saturday of July. Previous carnivals have featured airborne displays. The town is twinned with French town Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer on the north shore of Brittany.
