Kirkby Stephen
Kirkby Stephen is a civil parish and small market community in Cumbria, in North West England. Historically it belonged to Westmorland. The town rests on the A685, bordered by sparsely populated hill country, and also about 25 miles (40 kilometres) from the local larger towns, Kendal and Penrith. The River Eden rises 6 miles (9.7 km) in the peat bogs listed below Hugh Seat and also passes by the eastern edge of the town, practically unseen. Kirkby Stephen has a church council as well as is a centre for surrounding smaller sized towns and also churches, including Nateby, Ravenstonedale and Mallerstang. A neighborhood and council centre in the library supplies details and solutions for all the regional councils (region, district and parish). An electoral ward in the exact same name exists. This ward extends southern to Aisgill with an overall population taken at the 2011 Census of 2,580.
