Baldock is a historic market town inside the local government district of North Hertfordshire in the ceremonial county of Hertfordshire, England where the River Ivel rises. It is located 33 miles (53 kilometres) north of London, and features a population of about 9900. Nearby towns are Royston to the northeast, Letchworth and Hitchin to the southwest and Stevenage to the south. The contemporary layout of the town and several buildings in the centre date from the sixteenth century, with the earliest dating back to the fourteenth century. The town thrived where the old Great North Road and the Icknield Way crossed. In spite of the building of the A1(M) motorway in 1963, which bypassed the town, and which was called the Baldock Bypass for some years, it was still a major traffic bottleneck until March 2006, when a new bypass removed the A505 road, a part of the old Icknield Way to the east of Baldock. Since the 16th century, Baldock has been a centre for malting, subsequently becoming a regional brewing centre with at least three substantial brewers still operating at the end of the 19th century, in spite of a drop in demand for the varieties of beer produced locally. The 1881 Census notes roughly 30 drinking establishments. During the early 20th century, a big number of pubs continued to operate, many of which were sustained by the nearby and considerably bigger town of Letchworth, which had no alcohol retailers before 1958, and had only 2 pubs and a single hotel bar until the mid-1990s. Its larger population had for many years visited both Baldock and Hitchin for refreshment. For all your residence improvements, be sure that you utilise trustworthy experts in Baldock to make sure you get the very best quality service.

Biomass boilers can be designed to work with other kinds of heating. The most common of these is solar thermal. This is a popular renewable energy pairing. Solar thermal heating will meet your hot water needs during the summer while a biomass boiler can operate as a backup during the winter when solar thermal panels do not perform as well.
Many domestic biomass boilers are no bigger than a standard gas boiler. However, they do require a flue, a feeder and a space to store the fuel. These can be designed to suit many different properties and will fit in lots of homes or a garage or outbuilding.
Biomass boilers will work with existing central heating systems, presuming this is not decades old, whether they use radiators or under floor heating. A surveyor will check the existing system you have in place before quoting for or recommending a biomass boiler to you.
Biomass boilers do require some maintenance. Many manufacturers recommend servicing twice a year, although this is often included in the installation cost. Many systems have automatic fuel loading that removes the need to manually load fuel. You will need to remove the ash from the boiler, but this is as easy as emptying a vacuum cleaner.
