Brampton
Brampton (population 4,627) is a little market town, civil parish and electoral ward within the City of Carlisle area of Cumbria, England, about 9 miles (14 km) east of Carlisle and 2 miles (3.2 km) south of Hadrian's Wall surface. Historically part of Cumberland, it is positioned off the A69 road which bypasses it. Brampton train station, on the Newcastle and Carlisle Train, is about a mile outside the community, near the district of Milton. St Martin's Church is well-known as the only church made by the Pre-Raphaelite designer Philip Webb, and includes among one of the most beautiful collections of stained glass windows designed by Sir Edward Burne-Jones, and also implemented in the William Morris workshop.
