Asbestos removing is an important process in UK structures. For building reasons asbestos was previously very well liked in the United Kingdom primarily due to its insulation qualities. However with connected health risks the Government enforced a ban on its use in 2006.
Regardless of this there are still a huge number of homes with asbestos used in the ceilings and walls. And the outcomes of long term exposure can be quite detrimental for your health, with two forms of lung cancer associated with asbestos.
If you'd like to get asbestos removed from your property, a Health and Safety Executive will carry out an evaluation to find out if it's present. If this is the case it must be essential to have removed, because if you become clinically determined to have an asbestos connected condition it can often be too late.
For your very own safety, be sure to work with our service to compare and contrast quotations from specialists locally. We'll match your requirements with up to 4 companies so you can receive a no cost quotation for the work and take the matter from there.
Asbestos removal costs fluctuate according to the amount of material you have that needs removing, how easy it is to access and remove, and your location. However, the average price for an asbestos removal project in the UK is about £800.

Henley-on-Thames is a town and civil parish on the River Thames in the English county of Oxfordshire. It is situated about 7 miles (11 km) northeast of Reading and 7 miles west of Maidenhead. One of its borders has the tripoint of Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. It covers an area of around 2.15 square miles. According to the 2011 Census, the town has a permanent population of around 11619 people. The first record of Henley is from 1179, when it is documented that King Henry II 'had actually obtained land for the construction of buildings'. King John granted the manor of Benson and the town and manor of Henley to Robert Harcourt in 1199. The existing Thursday market, it is considered, was approved by a charter of King John. A market was undeniably in existence by 1269, although the jurors of the assize of 1284 asserted to not know by what warrant the earl of Cornwall held a market and fair in the town of Henley. The existing Corpus Christi fair was granted by a charter of Henry VI. Henley is a world-renowned centre for rowing. Each summer, the annual Henley Royal Regatta is held on Henley Reach, which is a naturally straight region of the river just north of the town. It was extended synthetically. The contest ended up being 'Royal' in 1851, when Prince Albert was patron of the regatta. The River and Rowing Museum, situated in Mill Meadows, is the town's one museum. It was established in 1998, and officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II. The museum, developed by the architect David Chipperfield, showcases info on the River Thames, the sport of rowing, and the town of Henley itself. For all your home renovations, make certain to find trusted experts in Henley-on-Thames to make certain of quality.

If you find out there’s asbestos in your property, it’s not always necessary to remove it. Asbestos is relatively low-risk if it’s contained in a material. This means that, if the material it’s in is in good condition, it shouldn’t be a problem.
However, if a material containing asbestos is damaged, or you want to remove, sand or drill into it, it’s best to have it removed by a licensed professional.
How To Remove Asbestos
Asbestos are naturally occurring fibrous material that used to be incorporated into fabrics or mixed with cement for insulation purposes be it electrical or building. As it’s highly dangerous and life threatening if disturbed, the material has been in the UK since 1999, however there are some exceptions. If you happen to reside in a house that has been in existence prior to 1980, then there is a chance your house contains some asbestos. You may discover it in your home when carrying out some DIY tasks or renovation. And once you do, you should waste no time in having it removed as the longer you’re exposed to it, the more life threatening it becomes.
Removal of asbestos is a task you should never try to do by yourself as it becomes harmful when disturbed. In an event whereby you suspect something to be asbestos, do not touch but rather have it isolated and call in a specialist for help. So it’s therefore not recommended to attempt asbestos removal as a DIY project unless you’re are experienced in the techniques below:
✓ Before you get started, it’s crucial to wear the necessary protective gear. These include wearing a respirator, a disposable coverall, disposable rubber gloves, rubber boots as well as safety eye goggles. And ensure that you remove all protective gear clothing and gear before exiting the containment area.
✓ Remove the materials and place in asbestos waste disposal bags
✓ Ensure to remove the asbestos without breaking it up.
✓ Make use of double bag and seal all debris containing asbestos.
✓ Wipe down all surfaces with a damp cloth
✓ Fold and roll the polyethylene sheeting on the floor and dispose them same way as the debris - double bag and seal.
✓ Clean all tools and equipments used.
✓ When done, ensure to wash face, hands and bathe thoroughly.
Asbestos fibres are very small, so they’re not possible to identify with the naked eye. However, they’re common in particular materials of a certain age, so you can work out if there are any parts of a building that are likely to contain asbestos.
Start by checking the date that the material you suspect contains asbestos was installed. If it was in 2000 or after then you don’t need to worry, it definitely doesn’t contain asbestos. However, if it was fitted before 2000 it may contain asbestos, particularly if this was between 1940 and 1980.
Materials that used to commonly contain asbestos include ceiling tiles, guttering, soffits, fascia, external cladding and facades, vinyl flooring, artex, cement roofs and insulation.
There are all different types of Asbestos. Some kinds of asbestos, if they are in good condition, may be left as they are or covered up. If there is any danger of the asbestos being damaged and particles entering the air, it should be removed. Once a survey has been completed you will be advised on what course of action to take.
