Fence part of a garden
Are you interested in getting fencing installed in Holywood? With the Quotatis service you'll be able to assess up to four fence contractors in order to get the best deal available for the task you want.
Fencing is really important for all houses no matter whether it's the front or back garden. From repair work to a complete installation of new fencing, working with a respected company is highly advised to get the very best price available.
Fences act as a boundary to our homes and with an installation you'll add protection to your property preventing easy access to the back garden. Back garden fences are traditionally close to six feet high, which right away makes it tougher for intruders to gain entry.
Decorative fencing or wooden picket fencing tend to be suitable for the front garden, where security isn't as vital. Instead, you're more likely to choose a front garden fence particularly for design and also to add something different.
For whatever sort of fencing you're wanting to have installed, make sure to use our free and no obligation service to get the best deal available in Holywood.
The regular cost of a new or replacement fence is approximately £20-£45 per foot, not including removing your existing fence which could cost an extra £5-10 per foot. The labour costs depend on the length and height of your fence, the number of posts and the material used. It will also differ among regions, so it's best to get a few quotes to see what the best price is in your area.

Holywood is a town in the city of Belfast in County Down, Northern Ireland. It is a civil parish and townland comprising 755 acres lying on the coast of Belfast Lough, in between Belfast and Bangor. Holywood Urban Area is identified as a medium town within the Belfast Metropolitan Urban Area (BMUA) by the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency, with the 2001 Census recording a permanent population of 12037. Within this population, around 20 per cent are aged under 16 years of age and 21 per cent were aged 60 and over. 50.6 per cent of the population is male and 49.4 percent is female. The train line from Belfast to Holywood arrived in 1848, and this resulted in quick progression. This expansion, in combination with that of neighboring towns and villages along the seaside strip to Bangor, necessitated the development of the Holywood Bypass in the early 1970s. The town is a popular residential area and is noted for its stylish shops, boutiques, arts and crafts. Holywood is most widely known for its maypole at the crossroads in the centre of town. Its origin continues to be rather vague, however, according to local tradition, it stems from 1700, when a Dutch ship is alleged to have run aground on the shore close by, and the crew set up the damaged mast to reveal their gratitude of the support used to them by the townsfolk. The maypole continues to be in regular use for dancing at the annual May Day fair. The town also holds an annual jazz and blues celebration. There are numerous sporting options in Holywood, being the home of football clubs, golf clubs, cricket clubs and a sports association. For all your home upgrades, make sure to make use of respected professionals in Holywood to make certain of quality.

The best way to build a fence depends on what style it is, as different types have different components. However, fencing made up of posts and panels is pretty common. To put this up, you’ll need to start by measuring out and digging holes for your fence posts. Then you’ll need to fit the panels between them and use concrete to secure the posts in the ground.
The cheapest fence to install is, generally, a pressure-treated pine wooden fence at around £20 per linear foot. This includes the materials and labour costs. Wire fencing is technically cheaper at around £5 per foot, but it’s not a great material to use in homes as it looks unsightly and doesn’t provide any privacy.
The most basic fencing starts at about £27 per panel. But if you want something that’s more decorative and better quality, expect to budget £30-£40 per panel. If you choose to get a professional to help you put up your fencing, they’ll probably be able to get your panels at a cheaper rate.
As a home or property owner, you’re generally allowed to build next to your neighbour’s fence as long as it’s on your own side of the property. With that in mind, there are certain laws that regulate how close a fence can be built to buildings on the same lot or neighbouring lots. In addition, there are also local bylaws that provide limitations on the placements as well as height of fences so as to address safety hazards. In this post, we’re going to give you a good insight into how close you can build to your neighbour. Let’s take a look!
In general, if the fence is in your boundary then you’re allowed to build a 2-metre high brick or wooden fence or wall. However, this may differ depending on your location in the UK. As a result, you may want to reach out to your municipality’s building department in order to determine what these rules and limitations are in your area. In the events whereby there are no such restrictions but you’re still concerned, you can try informing your neighbour what your concerns are. However, if they’re not receptive there are some steps you can take to ensure your plans go as smoothly as possible. These steps include the following:
