Studley is a large village and civil parish in the Stratford-on-Avon area of Warwickshire, England. Located on the western side of Warwickshire near the boundary with Worcestershire it is 4 miles (6 kilometres) southeast of Redditch and 13 miles (21 km) northwest of Stratford-upon-Avon. The Roman road of Ryknild Street, currently the A435, goes through the village on its eastern side, parallel to the River Arrow. The name stems from the Old English leah, being a meadow or pasture, where steeds, stod, are kept. Studley is sometimes declared to be the largest village in England, nevertheless, this is incorrect as it is not also the biggest town in Warwickshire. Although Polesworth and also Bulkington are bigger, by population, they could be classed as a suv. The UK Census 2001 reported Studley's population as being 6,624, lowering to 5,879 at the 2011 Census.
