Dukinfield is a town in Tameside, Greater Manchester, England. It lies on the south bank of the River Tame opposite Ashton under Lyne, being 6.3 miles east of Manchester. The town expanded from being just a modest town with much open land. Its progression occurred mostly after the Industrial Revolution, in which it came to be the site of both coal mining and cotton manufacturing.
