How long your aluminium windows will last depends on their quality. They should last 20 -30 years at least, but have been known to stay in good condition for up to 45 years. This is considerably longer than uPVC and wooden double glazing.
Ruardean
Ruardean is a village in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, England, to the west of Cinderford. It is positioned on a hill with views west in the direction of the mountains of South Wales. Little now continues to be of the town's commercial background, but once it was a centre for iron ore smelting furnaces, builds and coal mines. The Norman castle, currently bit greater than a pile, regulated the shortest route from Gloucester Castle to the Welsh Marches as well as the Wye Valley. The village has been, in times past, an important centre of iron as well as coal mining, however little evidence remains of this element of the town's background. The major historic spots of the village is Ruardyn Castle, close to the parish church. In the past the village was spelt as Ruardyn and also was part of Herefordshire. Nowadays the village lies inside Gloucestershire and is part of the Forest of Dean district. Like much of the surrounding area, Ruardean has historically been relatively bad; the 1831 demographics records 127 families, with half the populace employed in farming and 160 individuals on poor relief.
