Shifnal
Shifnal is a market town and civil parish in Shropshire, England, about 3 miles (5 km) east of Telford. It has a train station on the Shrewsbury-Wolverhampton Line and also is near the M54 freeway. At the 2001 census, it had a population of 6,391, enhancing to 6,776 at the 2011 census. With a lot of on-going housing developments this is expected to pass 10,000 by 2020. In late 2018 plans for a second, much larger expansion of Shifnal, were exposed by Shropshire County Council. The propositions, which triggered significant regional conflict as well as led to a public conference, consisted of approximately an additional 1,500 houses, 40 hectares of work land as well as a bypass south of the community by 2036. Big locations of farmland would be needed for the growth.
