Saxmundham
Saxmundham is a tiny market community in Suffolk, England, set in the valley of the River Fromus concerning 18 miles (29 kilometres) north-east of Ipswich and also 5 miles (8.0 km) west of the coastline at Sizewell. The town is bypassed by the A12. It is offered by Saxmundham railway station on the East Suffolk Line. Saxmundham Town Council comes under the new East Suffolk District. The community's name purportedly originates from the Old English "Seizmond's House". The earliest recorded reference of Saxmundham remains in the Domesday Book of 1086 which discusses three churches. It has had a market charter given that at least 1272 and also continues the custom to now.
