Hockley
Hockley is a large town and also civil parish in Essex in the East of England located in between Chelmsford and Southend-on-Sea, or, more particularly, in between Rayleigh and Rochford. It came to importance during the resulting the railway in the 1890s as well as at the 2001 census had a population of 13,616 people, decreasing to 9,616 at the 2011 Census, much of whom commute to London. The church of Hockley itself has a population of 8,909 (2001 census), while the city area runs into the neighbouring church of Hawkwell. Hockley railway station serves the village.
