Crickhowell
Crickhowell is a village as well as community in southeastern Powys, Wales, near Abergavenny, and remained in the historical county of Brecknockshire. The name Crickhowell is drawn from that of the nearby Iron Age hill fort of Crug Hywel above the community, the Welsh language name being anglicised by map-makers and regional English-speaking individuals. The community pushes the River Usk, on the southern side of the Black Mountains as well as in the eastern part of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Considerable parts of the bordering countryside, over 20,000 acres (81 km2) create part of the Glanusk Park estate. An electoral ward in the exact same name exists. This ward includes The Vale of Grwyney community and has a complete population of 2,801 as taken at the 2011 census. The present councillor is John Morris, a Liberal Democrat.
