Rowland's Castle
Rowlands Castle is a village and civil parish in the East Hampshire district of Hampshire, England. It is 2.9 miles (4.7 kilometres) north of Havant, on the Hampshire/West Sussex border. The prime focus of the village is the village green which is designed somewhat like a lung. Surrounded by roadways it is about 250 lawns (230 m) long and about 40 backyards (37 m) broad at its eastern end while tapering to nearly a factor at the western end near the train arc. The village takes its name from a motte-and-bailey castle, the remains of which are located to the south of Redhill Road and west of the train line, eastern of the present centre of the village. It is mainly a quiet domestic town, with four clubs and a few small stores, including a hardware store and a local corner store, and also a population of 2,770.
