Sturminster Newton
Sturminster Newton is a community and also civil parish in the Blackmore Vale area of Dorset, England. It is located on a reduced sedimentary rock ridge in a meander of the River Stour. The town goes to the centre of a large dairy products farming region, around which the community's economic climate is built. The larger part of the town (Sturminster) pushes the north side of the river, and also includes most stores as well as solutions, whilst to the south is the smaller Newton. Between these two locations is a wide flood plain. The town was the house of poet as well as author William Barnes, and also, for part of his life, Thomas Hardy.
