About NAPIT
The National Association of Professional Inspectors and Testers (NAPIT) is a Government approved membership scheme operator in the building services and fabric sector. There are more than 10,000 NAPIT registered installers across domestic, commercial and industrial markets.

NAPIT focuses on raising standards and safety in the building services sector. NAPIT Registration and NAPIT Certification operates their membership schemes, which are part of the NAPIT Group. Other companies in the group include NAPIT Trade Association and NAPIT Insurance, amongst others.

NAPIT Registration, authorised by the Department of Communities and Local Government and the Welsh Government, operates Competent Person Schemes. They also operate a Third Party Certification Scheme in England. This means that NAPIT complies with Conditions of Authorisation and can save customers money by being able to self-certify their work instead of having to apply to building regulations.

NAPIT Certification confirms NAPIT’s Competent Person Schemes. UKAS accreditation makes sure that technical competence of the services it provides are in line with industry requirements.

NAPIT is a TrustMark scheme operator. NAPIT Registered Installers can join TrustMark’s database without having to complete another assessment.

All NAPIT membership schemes need certain core qualifications and installers may have to prove that they can safely carry out their work. They are regularly assessed after registration to ensure their ongoing competence. NAPIT members are able to work to the latest health and safety regulations and can complete work safely, so consumers can be confident in a NAPIT registered installer. It also provides a search facility for customers to find a NAPIT registered tradesperson who is suitable to carry out the work they are looking for. Consumers can access the Green Deal and Feed-In Tariff through NAPIT Registered Installers.
