The Independent Warranty Association (IWA) is the most trusted Deposit and Guarantee protection scheme in the UK. It aims to raise the standards within the home improvement industry.IWA protects customers’ investments and properties by only accrediting tradespeople with a proven history of delivering excellent customer service.
The Association provides cover with policies that are user-friendly and last for up to 10 years. There are no excesses on their insurance, keeping customers’ costs down.
Just some of the products that IWA offers protection for are bathrooms, bedrooms, biomass boilers, conservatories, doors and windows. It offers guarantee insurance, which covers the customer’s investment even if the contractor ceases to trade. Guarantee insurance means that the terms of the guarantee will be honoured, even if the company is no longer in service.
IWA also provides deposit protection. This means that if the worst happens and the company contracted to carry out the customer’s work ceases to trade before the work begins, the customer’s deposit is protected and the IWA will arrange for the work to be completed or for the deposit to be refunded.
All members of the IWA are fully vetted and monitored to ensure they always provide excellent customer service. The IWA also provides a dedicated customer helpline offering knowledgeable advice and support, so consumers are never left in a situation where they don’t know who to turn to.
