About HIES
The Home Insulation and Energy Systems Contractors Scheme (HIES) is a consumer protection organisation covering the installation of renewable energy products. It ensures that customers are dealt with professionally and courteously.HIES ensures that products installed by its members are fit for purpose, installed professionally and come with guarantees covered by specialist insurance that gives consumers a high level of protection.
HIES provides customers with free access to dispute resolution, including mediation, independent inspections to assist with installation or product malfunctions and access to an independent Ombudsman. It has a strict Code of Practice that members must adhere to at all times, and it is approved by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute.
There are plenty of benefits to consumers using a HIES member. All HIES members are fully vetted and accredited before they are allowed to be part of HIES, so customers can be reassured that they are using competent and responsible installers. Customers also have access to a consumer advice line they can call at any time, and will be given a free insurance backed guarantee when their installation is complete.
Customers also have access to free deposit protection up to 25% with a HIES member, so they can feel safe in the knowledge that their money is protected at all times.
