About F Gas Category 3
You’re required to hold an F gas qualification if you want to work on systems and equipment containing F gas (fluorinated greenhouse gases) in the UK. This includes heat pumps and air con systems.An F gas category 3 qualification covers the recovery of refrigerant from systems that contain less than 3kg of F gas. If you complete an F gas category 3 qualification with an F gas awarding body, you can carry out this activity.
UK F gas awarding bodies include City & Guilds, BESA and Logic Certification.
