About F Gas Category 2
You need to hold an F gas qualification to be able to work on equipment and systems containing F gas (fluorinated greenhouse gases) in the UK. This includes heat pumps and air conditioning systems.An F gas category 2 qualification covers installation, maintenance, servicing and recovering refrigerant from systems containing less than 5 tonnes of CO2 equivalent (CO2e). If you complete an F gas category 2 qualification with an F gas awarding body, you can carry out all the above activities.
UK F gas awarding bodies include City & Guilds, BESA and Logic Certification.
