About F Gas Category 1
You have to hold an F gas qualification to be able to work on systems and equipment containing fluorinated greenhouse gases (F gas) in the UK. This includes air conditioning systems and heat pumps.An F gas category 1 qualification covers leak checking, recovery, installation, servicing and maintenance of equipment. If you complete an F gas category 1 qualification with an F gas awarding body, you can carry out all activities on all stationary refrigeration and air conditioning (SRAC) systems (including heat pumps).
UK F gas awarding bodies include City & Guilds, BESA and Logic Certification.
