The Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) is the lead qualifying body for Architectural Technology and represents those practising within the discipline.The institute aims to promote the science and practice of Architectural Technology and improve standards of service to benefit the industry and society, so if you use a CIAT member you can be sure that they are committed to these standards.
CIAT also aims to uphold and advance the standards of education, competence, practice and conduct of members, so using a CIAT member will ensure that they are well-trained in their area of expertise.
Members of CIAT are governed by the Charter, Byelaws and Regulations of the Institute, ensuring that they are always working to the highest standards. They are also bound by the Code of Conduct, which states:
• Members must conduct themselves professional manner
• One member must not gain an unfair advantage over another
• Members must not misrepresent themselves or the Institute
• The public may rely on members for their integrity and professionalism
CIAT has its own disciplinary procedures, so you can be assured that members are held to account and must adhere to the Code of Conduct to stay a part of the Institute.
