Caldicot
Caldicot is a smaller sized town and community within Monmouthshire, southeast Wales. The term 'Caldicot' is generally believed to derive from the Old English phrase 'calde cot' which means 'cold hut'. A cold hut is an exposed shelter made use of by either humans or animals. One of the oldest buildings in Caldicot, Llanthony Secunda Manor was constructed around 1120 as a grange for monks from Llanthony Secunda Priory in Gloucester.
