Westcliff-on-sea
Westcliff-on-Sea is a suburb of Southend-on-Sea, a seaside resort and unitary authority in Essex in south-east England. It gets on the north shore of the reduced Thames Estuary, regarding 34 miles (55 km) eastern of London. The main buying location in Westcliff-on-Sea is Hamlet Court Road, where the chain store Havens, established in 1901, stayed the anchor store till its closure in 2017. Hamlet Court Road took its name from a manor house called the Hamlet Court, which based on land currently inhabited by Pavarotti's restaurant as well as adjoining stores, facing towards the sea with sweeping gardens to the railway. The road later on developed into a solid independent retail area and swiftly became famous outside the area as the Bond Street of Essex. There were several haberdashers and also professional stores, and it was not also unusual to see drivers awaiting their companies to emerge from the shops.
