Dunmow
Great Dunmow is a historical market community and civil parish in the Uttlesford district of Essex, England. It is positioned on the north of the A120 road, roughly midway in between Bishop's Stortford and also Braintree, 6 miles east of London Stansted Airport. Originally the site of a Roman settlement on Stane Street, the town grew during the Middle Ages. Several buildings survive from this period, including a sixteenth-century town hall. Dunmow implies "Meadow on capital". [4] The negotiation was otherwise described as Dunmow Magna, Much Dunmow, or a lot of generally Great Dunmow. Great Dunmow surrounds the former estate of Easton Lodge in the neighbouring church of Little Easton, a lodge coming from the Maynard family. The most noteworthy member, Frances Maynard, ended up being the Countess of Warwick and also later a girlfriend of King Edward VII. As the Prince of Wales he was reportedly a routine visitor to the Estate, travelling from London on the train to Easton Lodge train station. The initials "CW" are visible on a number of Victorian period residential properties in Great Dunmow. Referred To As Daisy Greville, Countess of Warwick she was a charitable benefactor in the local community. Since 2018, Robert Nicholson is Emeritus Mayor of Great Dunmow.
