Belper
Belper is a town and civil parish within the local government district of Amber Valley in Derbyshire, England. It's positioned about 7 miles to the north of Derby on the River Derwent. The parish is also made up of the village of Milford along with the hamlets of Bargate, Blackbrook and Makeney. As recorded in the 2001 Census, the town had a permanent resident population of 20,000, living in 8,800 households. Historically a hub for the nail manufacturing sector, the town developed through the early Industrial Revolution to grow to be among the first mill towns soon after the establishment of many textile mills. Due to these sites, the town forms a part of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site.
