Smoke alarms are crucial for every household. Each year, the Fire and Rescue Service visit more than 600,000 fires which lead to over 800 deaths. These incidents could be prevented by having smoke alarms placed in each residence or business premises. Smoke alarms are self-contained devices that detect a fire and sound an alarm. They should be fitted to the ceiling, even though in certain properties you could see them fitted near the top of a wall. They're able to detect fires in their early stages, giving you time to react to a fire. There are various sorts of smoke alarms and they can be battery-powered or wired to the mains electricity. Alarms that are powered by the mains are thought to be safer as you don’t need to worry about replacing the batteries when they run out. Providing you don’t have a power cut, the smoke alarm should detect fires and keep you and your household safe. An electrician will help you set up a smoke alarm and connect it to your mains power. Just fill in our online form and we’ll put you in contact with up to four electricians who're qualified to offer you a competitive quote.
