Pevensey
Pevensey is a village and also civil parish in the Wealden area of East Sussex, England. The primary village is located 5 miles (8 kilometres) north-east of Eastbourne, one mile (1.6 kilometres) inland from Pevensey Bay. The settlement of Pevensey Bay creates part of the parish. It was below that William the Conqueror made the landing in his intrusion of England in 1066 after crossing the English Channel from Normandy, France.
