Ivybridge

Ivybridge is a small town and civil parish in the South Hams, in Devon, England. It lies about 9 miles (14.5 km) east of Plymouth. It is at the southern extremity of Dartmoor, a National Park of England and Wales and is found along the A38 'Devon Expressway' road. In accordance with the 2011 Census, the town has a permanent population of around 11851 people. Reported in documents as early as the 13th century, Ivybridge's early history is marked by its status as an essential crossing-point over the River Erme on the Exeter-to-Plymouth route. In the 16th century, mills were developed making use of the River Erme's power. The parish of Saint John was formed in 1836, with Ivybridge coming to be a civil parish in 1894. It came to be a town in 1977. The early urbanisation and advancement of Ivybridge largely coincided with the Industrial Revolution. When the South Devon Railway Company developed its train route through Ivybridge in the 19th century, a paper mill was built alongside it, which triggered an increase in housing nearby. The paper mill closed in the beginning of the 21st century, after being in operation for over 150 years in the town, and the structures are being converted to homes and shops. The shopping area is predominantly along Fore Street, with some little shops and eateries located in the Glanvilles Mill shopping centre which is accessible from Fore Street. The shopping centre features over 35 shops, which includes both local and nationwide chain stores, along with eateries and cafés. Although sometimes referred to as a dormitory town, lots of people work in the town itself, and agriculture continues to play an economic role for Ivybridge's hinterland. The area bordering Ivybridge is almost entirely farmland. For all your home improvements, make sure to identify trusted specialists in Ivybridge to make certain of quality.

    FAQs

Why is Professional Air Conditioning Installation Important in a shop?

When it comes to the installation of air conditioning units, one of the greatest mistakes any shop owner can make is attempting to install the system by themselves. The good performance, efficiency as well as durability of a heating and cooling system starts right from the installation stage. Therefore, if not done right, you risk making such an expensive investment a total waste. Installing your air conditioning system by yourself may save you the cost of hiring a professional like many shop owners would rightly say, but one thing they often ignore is the fact is that a poorly installed air conditioning unit would actually be more of a liability than an asset. Not only can it consume more electricity than necessary implying higher energy bills, but it can also lead to frequent breakdowns meaning huge repair costs as well as significantly cutting short the lifespan of the unit in question. Hence, the importance of getting in touch with a reliable professional for help.

If you’re yet to be convinced of the importance of having your shop air conditioning system professionally installed, here are some points that will make you have a rethink.

    • Professionals are experienced and highly skilled. When it comes to the installation of heating and cooling systems in a work environment, there’s a need to call in a reliable professional. This is because AC system installation requires a well trained individual who knows just how best to ensure your AC system works efficiently and for a long period of time.
    • Professionals able to provide expert advice. Having a good experience in field and good knowledge of heating and cooling systems, professionals are able to provide helpful tips such as maintenance procedures so as to ensure you get to enjoy your investment for a prolonged period.
Is it more efficient to leave A/C on?

We all know how helpful air conditioning systems can be especially during the hot summer season which is great at making your home feel nothing less than an inferno. So if you have an AC system, you’d probably want to know if leaving it on will be cheaper and more efficient.

The short and simple answer to this question is yes, leaving your air conditioning system on will make make it cheaper and more efficient. This isn’t what you or many other people will have in mind though. Under no circumstances should you leave you air conditioning system on full blast 24/7. To make your air conditioning system more efficient by leaving it on has a right and wrong way you can go about it. Let’s have a look!

If you’d ever noticed, any time you turn your air conditioner off during a very a hot day, even if it’s for just a couple of hours, things tend to get thrown out of balance pretty quickly. When turned back on, your AC system will have to work even harder to restore the usual comfort levels in the room. When you abuse this dial in such a fashion, the AC system can only become more inefficient rather than making your home more comfortable quickly.

On the other hand, your AC system ( when tuned to the right settings) can help maintain the proper temperature and humidity balance within your home instead of turning it off while away. And upon getting back, you can simply turn down the thermostat a bit which helps you prevent the usual stagnant air that you’d be hit with when your return home (with the AC system turned off) that’ll have you racing for the dial.

What is the Difference Between Commercial AC and Residential AC?

When it comes to air conditioning, there’s nothing like a one-size-fits-all approach as different buildings have different needs. As a result, there are various types of air conditioners to address unique building requirements. Having a full grasp of the differences between a commercial air conditioner and a residential air conditioner can go a long way to help you in choosing the most appropriate system for your building to ensure all occupants can enjoy the high air quality at the perfect temperature.

Now, while both commercial and residential HVAC systems serve the same purpose of heating, cooling as well as ventilating, they are largely varied in terms of the parts and mechanisms. This is due to the fact that tackling the need for comfort in a home or residential space is very different when compared to a work environment.

First and foremost, there’s usually a distinct physical difference between commercial and residential air conditioners. The residential ones are usually central systems which are linked to a series of ducts, with the evaporator and condenser in separate areas of the property. On the other hand, the commercial systems normally combines both heating and cooling units in one rooftop package that prevents the noise it produces from disturbing the work of the occupants. Having the package on the roof also goes a long way to help the companies free up some physical space.

The main difference between a commercial air conditioner and a residential air conditioner, however, is the amount of power which the system consumes to cool off a space. This is partly because a work environment usually takes up more space than residential environments. As a result, heating and cooling systems that are intended for use in commercial spaces are usually built to be a lot more powerful.

Do I Need to Replace My Commercial Air Con System?

If you want to guarantee the comfort of those inside your work environment, getting a commercial HVAC system should be a top priority. And if you already have one installed, knowing the best time to have it replaced rather than repaired will go a long way to save you some huge bucks. For instance, an air conditioning system that’s old and malfunctioning is best replaced due to the fact that all the components are probably weak and can only keep generating series of faults till it finally breaks down beyond repair. When evaluating your air conditioning unit, there are some factors that you’ll need to take into account to save yourself some money and headaches. Let’s take a look!

    • Age. If your commercial HVAC system is within 15 to 20 years old and starting to look like a giant rust attached to your building, then its probably time to get a replacement. Also when old, most commercial air con systems are usually much less efficient and will consume more energy which implies higher energy bills.
    • Wear and tear. If your system has experienced a significant amount of wear and tear, then its probably not heating or cooling as efficiently as it used to. Depending on the product’s quality as well as the level of maintenance many commercial HVAC system would be overdue for an upgrade by the time they’re about 15 years old.
    • Malfunctions. When it comes to heating and cooling systems, some issues are quite easy to fix or resolve while others ( such as a broken furnace fan or refrigerant problems) should be best left to the experts. However, if the malfunctions are becoming more often or serious enough, then you should probably consider getting an upgrade.
