Carnoustie

Carnoustie is a town and former police burgh in the council area of Angus in Scotland. It's at the mouth of the Barry Burn on the North Sea coast. In accordance with the 2011 census, Carnoustie features a permanent population of about 11394 people. This makes it the fourth biggest town in Angus. The town was founded in the late 1700s, and it grew rapidly during the nineteenth century because of the development of the local textile market. Carnoustie benefited from the 19th century fashion for sea bathing. The arrival of the railway enabled the town to grow into a well-liked tourist destination, and it was promoted as the 'Brighton of the North' in the early 20th century. Carnoustie can be regarded as a dormitory town. Along with bringing industry to Carnoustie, the opening of the railway also made the town appealing for the middle classes, who used it as a commuter town for Dundee, further boosting population development in the town. Practically half of the employed population now commute to Dundee for work. It continues to be served by Carnoustie railway station, and significantly less so by Golf Street railway station. Its nearest major road is the A92. The town is best recognised for the Carnoustie Golf Links course that frequently hosts The Open Championship. Although golf has been played on Barry Links since the 16th century, a formal 10-hole golf course was laid out in 1850 to the design of Alan Robertson of St Andrews. It was later improved in 1867 by Old Tom Morris, who added a further eight holes. This course was redesigned during the 1920s by James Braid. Meanwhile for a double garage, you should expect a price increase of about 40 percent to 50 percent. For instance, lead or fibreglass are much more expensive when compared to felt roofs.

how much is it to replace a garage roof?

How Much Is It To Replace A Garage Roof?

The size of your garage will be the main determinant of the cost of a new garage roof. However, the present condition of your roof structure as well as the type of roof covering preferred are also huge factors. In the UK, the cost of a garage roof replacement will be within the range of £700 to £3600.

The first step a pro will take is to remove the existing roofing while also making sure that the timber structure is in a good condition. In the event whereby the timber is rotten, it will need to be replaced before the installation of a new roof. If the garage roof sheets needs a replacement, you’ll have to spend about £30 to £50 per each garage roof sheets. Individual plywood sheet has around 2.4m x 1.2m in measurement and whose price should also be included in the final cost.

The above information applies only to standard roofing for garage roofs with flat roofs being made of bitumen felt and asphalt. In recent times, this is no longer the case with several more options available. Today, EPDM and GRP fibreglass have rapidly become very popular amongst several homeowners in the country. It’s also important to note that modern roofing has greatly advanced over the years even though both EPDM garage roofs and GRP fibreglass garage roofs are way better and of more quality when compared to felt and asphalt roofs. And thanks to modern technology, modern garage roofing possesses a longer life expectancy and as result, are a lot costlier than the conventional ones.

For a medium size single garage (2.7m x 5.5m), the cost for a felt roof per square metre is between £40 to £70, while that of a fiberglass roof and an EPDM rubber roof is between £90 to £110 and £70 to £100 respectively.
