Longniddry
Longniddry is a town in East Lothian, Scotland, with a population of 2,613 (2001 census). The Scottish Women's Rural Institute was founded below in 1917. Longniddry is largely a dormitory town for commuters, with excellent transport web links by road as well as rail (Longniddry railway station gets on the North Berwick Line) to the funding. The town has a variety of local, area based resources including regional shops and Longniddry Community Centre, which likewise houses the library. Near to the collection is the Scout Hall made use of by the Longniddry Scout Group. The golf course hosted the Carling-Caledonian Tournament in 1961. Like numerous seaside communities in East Lothian, Longniddry has a sandy coastline close to the fairway. This stretch of local coast is lined with dunes and referred to as Longniddry Bents.
