Carrbridge
Carrbridge is a town in Badenoch and Strathspey in the Scottish Highlands. It lies off the A9 on the A938, west of Skye of Curr, southeast of Tomatin, near Bogroy. It has the oldest stone bridge in the Highlands and the nearby ancient pine forest includes the Landmark Forest Adventure Park. Carrbridge has to do with 10 kilometres (6 mi) north of Aviemore and also develops an entrance to the Cairngorms National Park. It was an early centre for snowboarding in Scotland. In the 2001 census the village had a population of 708 individuals, with the bulk employed in tourism. Up until the 1980s bypass was built, the A9 ran directly via the town. Carrbridge is served by Carrbridge train station on the Highland Main Line. Neighborhood dispute still raves relating to the name Carrbridge itself, with some choosing to see it hyphenated to Carr-bridge. Words "Carr" has nothing to do with motorised transport but is originated from the Old Norse word for boggy location.
