Garve
Garve is a village on the Black Water river, in Ross-shire, and remains in the Highland Council area of Scotland. It is located 5 miles (8 km) northwest of Contin, on the A835, the highway to Ullapool on the west coast, near to where the A832 branches off towards Achnasheen. The village is served by the Garve train station, on the Kyle of Lochalsh Line, which goes across the A835 road on a degree going across. In 1890 Garve was recommended as the starting-point of a train to Ullapool. The town has a primary school and hotel however no shop. The town is within the Garve and Area Area Council location. Garve as well as Area are offered by the Garve and District Development Company, a company developed by the area throughout 2017.
