There are several different kinds of plastering. ‘Dot and dab’ refers to a base layer of plasterboard which is attached to a wall using ‘dabs’ of adhesive. ‘Floating’ is a technique where a backing or undercoat plaster is applied to walls. ‘Skimming’ or ‘reskimming’ refers to the very thin final decorative layer of plaster.
East Cowes
East Cowes is a community and civil parish to the north of the Isle of Wight, on the east financial institution of the River Medina beside its neighbour on the west financial institution, Cowes. Both towns are connected by the Cowes Drifting Bridge, a chain ferry operated by the Isle of Wight Council. East Cowes is the site of Norris Castle, and Osborne House, the previous summertime house of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. The Prince had a significant impact on the design of the location, for instance on the building of St Mildred's Church in neighboring Whippingham, which includes distinct turrets mimicing those found on a German castle.
