Nantwich is a market town and civil parish in the Borough of Cheshire East and the county of Cheshire, England. It is situated on the Cheshire Plain, on the shores of the River Weaver. Another popular celebration involving food is the annual Nantwich Food Festival, which occurs in the town centre over the first weekend in September. Regenerated as a free-entry fair in 2010, the fair draws many artisan producers from both the local area and further afield, and presents chef demonstrations, family activities and entertainment. It draws in approximately 30000 visitors a year. The town is known for having the most extensive collection of historical structures in the county. Most of the listed structures can be located in the town centre, found within the 38 hectares (94 acres) of conservation area, which generally follows the perimeters of the late medieval and early post-medieval town.
