Penmaenmawr
Penmaenmawr is a town as well as community in Conwy County District, Wales, which was previously in the parish of Dwygyfylchi. It is on the North Wales shore in between Conwy and Llanfairfechan and also was an important quarrying town, though quarrying is no longer a significant company. The population of the neighborhood was 4,353 in 2011, including Dwygyfylchi as well as Capelulo. The community itself having a population of 2,868 (2011 ). It was called after Penmaenmawr mountain, which stands over the sea quickly west of the town. Much of its previously rounded top (with an old hill-fort) has been quarried away, leaving the contemporary reduced level top. The town was bypassed by the A55 Expressway in the 1980s, shedding its old Edwardian period boardwalk at the same time, which was greatly replaced by a modern one. Penmaenmawr is noted for its incredible mountain and seaside walks. Nearby are the preferred tourist attractions of Bwlch Sychnant (Sychnant Pass) and also Mynydd y Dref, and the town additionally lies partly within Eryri, the Snowdonia National Park.
