Kidwelly
Kidwelly is a town and area in Carmarthenshire, southwest Wales, about 7 miles (11 kilometres) northwest of the most populous community in the region, Llanelli. In the 2001 census the area of Kidwelly returned a population of 3,289, increasing to 3,523 at the 2011 Census. It rests on the River Gwendraeth over Carmarthen Bay. Regional destinations consist of Kidwelly Castle, established in 1106; a fourteenth-century bridge as well as entrance; the previous quay (currently a nature book); a Norman parish church, and also a commercial gallery. Kidwelly Circus is an annual event hung on the 2nd Saturday of July. Previous carnivals have featured aerial display screens. The town is twinned with French village Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer on the north coastline of Brittany.
