Cardigan
Cardigan is a town and also community in the region of Ceredigion in Wales. The town lies on a tidal reach of the River Teifi at the point where Ceredigion, formerly Cardiganshire, fulfills Pembrokeshire. Cardigan was the county town of the historical area and also is the second-largest community in Ceredigion. The largest community, Aberystwyth, is one of both administrative centres; the other being Aberaeron. The negotiation at Cardigan was developed around the Norman castle constructed in the late 11th or early 12th century. The castle was the area of the initial National Eisteddfod in 1176. The town came to be a crucial port in the 18th century, but declined by the early 20th century owing to its superficial harbour. The castle underwent repair in 2014. The population in 2001 was 4,203, reducing slightly to 4,184 at the 2011 census. Modern Cardigan is a small as well as hectic community, having the majority of the facilities for retail, education, health and wellness, prayer and sport.
