Llandovery is a market community as well as area in Carmarthenshire, Wales. It lies on the River Tywi as well as at the junction of the A40 and also A483 roads, around 25 miles (40 kilometres) north-east of Carmarthen, 27 miles (43 km) north of Swansea and 21 miles (34 kilometres) west of Brecon. A selecting ward with the exact same name exists. This ward covers Llandovery but also extends to the north. The complete ward population taken at the 2011 Census was 2,689. The area is bordered by the communities of Llanfair-ar-y-bryn, Myddfai, Llanwrda, as well as Cilycwm, all being in Carmarthenshire. As of 2019, the mayor of Llandovery is Annabel Graham Paul. Llandovery is twinned with Pluguffan in Brittany, France.
