On the lookout for landscape designs specialists in Kidlington? Our landscape design professionals in Kidlington can offer you the perfect quotes to have specialist landscaping carried out.

Landscape design is the phrase used for when features of land are transformed, typically to try to help it become more appealing or practical. Places that could be landscaped include gardens, fences, properties and structures.

Examples of the most popular factors behind for having an area landscaped include enhancing the first impression of your house, improving health benefits and adding value to your house.

A properly maintained landscape will increase the value of your house, while poorly maintained gardens will see a decrease and put off potential customers. Additionally, with a range of trees, shrubs and plants you'll manage to improve air quality plus your body's healthiness.

A fantastic garden can help get rid of the worries of the day when you return from work in the evening. A well-kept garden is a great place to relax in the summer and may help you unwind after having a busy day.

We will provide up to four landscaping experts locally, who will supply quotations for the work you wish done. You'll get a property visit from experts in Kidlington who will help you choose the right design for your property prior to finishing the project.

Landscaping will take any duration, based on the size of your area and what you want carried out.

Kidlington

Kidlington is a sizeable village and civil parish between the River Cherwell and the Oxford Canal. It is around 5 miles (8 km) north of Oxford and 7.5 miles (12 km) southwest of Bicester. The settlement listed in the Domesday Book of 1086 progressed from an ancient village adjacent to the church. Until the Enclosure acts of 1818, a substantial section south of the village was unenclosed common land, and the village was widely known as Kidlington-on-the-Green. In accordance with the 2011 Census, the village has a permanent resident population of 13723. This makes it a serious competitor for the largest village in England. Kidlington citizens have continuously withstood proposals to become a town, although it qualifies for such status against any criteria. Following a peremptory adjustment by the Parish Council to Town status, the change was voted down in a ballot of the local electorate by 98 percent, and consequently reversed. There are many options to take part in social, cultural and leisure activities in the village. Kidlington is home to around 50 shops, both independent and commercial chain stores, banks and building societies, a public library, a large village hall and a weekly market. In addition to this, there are seven public houses, two cafes, and 4 eateries. The public houses are concentrated along the dual carriageway that runs through the village, which feature the Highwayman Hotel, the Black Horse, the Black Bull, the Red Lion, together with the King's Arms in the Moors, and the 6 Bells in Mill Street. The Squire Bassett was transformed into a Nepalese eatery and renamed the Gurkha Village in 2012. For all your house upgrades, make certain to make use of respected professionals in Kidlington to make certain of quality.

FAQs

Do I need a gardener or landscaper?

Do I Need A Gardener Or Landscaper?

This is a question that’s often asked by most homeowners across the globe. While it’s true that both gardener and landscaper can make your garden a lot more beautiful and pleasing to the eye, it’s also crucial to know the significant difference between the two professions.

So who is a landscaper? We have two types of landscapers: the landscape architect whose job is to design a landscape and a landscape builder whose job is to do the physical requirements of creating a landscape. Both types are very interrelated such that landscape architects can also be landscape builders or have one or more of the other type in same team (as most landscaping building projects will be supervised by a landscape architect).

Now the main difference between a landscaper and a gardener is the type or scope of work they’re qualified to undertake. Generally, landscapers require just one or more types of trade licences to work, meanwhile a gardener may or may not need a trade licence. So who is a gardener?

It’s the job of a gardener to come in and maintain the landscape garden once the landscape has successfully built the outdoor area. In other words, it’s part of a gardener’s services to prune plants, mow the lawns, do the weeding, fertilize your soil and much more. It’s not their job to construct a large retaining wall or a gazebo. And you can also be sure they won’t appear with a backhoe ready to sculpt your landscape.

Overall, deciding who to choose between a gardener and a landscape depends on the type or scope of work that’s required. With the aforementioned differences, you should be able to easily determine who to call when in need of a landscaping or gardening service.

How to landscape a garden?

How To Landscape A Garden

Are you thinking about landscaping your garden? Well, not only will this make your property more visually appealing, but can also go a long way to add value to it. Landscaping a garden can be a very difficult project which should be left to a reliable professional who can guarantee the best results the first time, especially if you lack proper training or experience in the field. This way, you get to save time and extra money that can result due to possible costly mistakes. However, if you’re confident enough about your skills, here’s a step by step guide to help you through the garden landscaping process.

• Start from the front yard. This is the first place you’ll see when you get home and visitors will admire when they stop by.

• Hardscape first. Tackle all the handscaping projects before setting out the plants. The hardscapes include the sidewalk, drive way, porch, decks, fencing and the likes.

• Toil in the soil. When it’s time for the garden, you can start by amending your soil with organic matter before you set out the plants.

• Plan next to your house. When it comes to landscaping a garden, functionality is just as important as the beauty. With that in mind, never allow your foundation planting to cover your house, but to embrace it.

• Selecting the right plants. Study the landscape, observe when the sun rises and sets and determine the best plants for those conditions, you can consult with a local garden centre for more information.

• Plant shapes and textures. You can include some design elements to your landscape simply by taking advantage of the plants’ shape and texture.

• Finishing touches. These includes adding stuffs like containers, window boxes, hanging baskets both to add a little more functionality and a bit more colour to your landscape.

• Maintenance. To enjoy your beautiful landscape for a longer period, it has to be maintained.

Does landscaping a garden add value?

Does Landscaping A Garden Add Value?

When taking a good look at the image of new homes or perhaps you’re just thinking about getting one, one thing that several people will look out for is the garden. The thought of owning a perfect little oasis is all homeowners’ dream.

In a recent study conducted by Rightmove, it was discovered that to more than 60% of home buyers, an access to a garden was a priority. And according to the Royal Chartered Institute of Surveyors, this demand for garden is set to grow by 20% over the next 2 years.

Therefore, it’s obvious that having a beautiful landscaped garden is always a great asset to possess. But exactly how much value does a garden add to a property?

According to the studies carried out by Foxtons, it’s suggested that a garden can add as much as 20% to any property’s value, however, it should be expected that this value can vary based on a number of factors. In urban locations such as London, where there’s really not much outdoor space, possessing a garden can add an enormous amount to your property’s value.

However, if you happen to live in sub urban areas such as Wilmslow, where almost every home possesses a garden, what will influence the amount of value a garden will add to your property depends on it’s size as well as it’s unique features.

What’s more? Another important influence of a garden’s added value is the time of the season in which you’re selling your property. For more value, the best time to sell is always in the spring or summer when there are several gardens in bloom and multiple colours to please the eye. However, when it’s autumn and winter, the idea of staying outdoors for a quick get together or gardening is always very far, hence the value that’ll be added at this point may be low.

How to plan a landscape garden?

How To Plan A Landscape Garden

If you’ve decided to go for a landscape garden, this might imply putting in new gardens entirely or probably just coming up with a planting plan for the current year. However, because you want a beautiful landscape garden doesn’t mean you can just go out, get a couple of plants and decide to plant them anywhere that looks good to you once you get home.

For a much better landscape garden, doing some proper landscape garden planning can go a long way to help you get the results you desire. So how do you plan a landscape garden?

• Set Goals

The first step is to determine how you want the garden to feel and look, how it’s going to be used or what’s going to be used for as well as how you’ll work to boost the small ecosystem.

• Site Plan

Identify what you already have on the site like the plants, paths, gardens etc, and draw them out perhaps on a graph paper. Once done, you can make some photocopies and start playing with different ideas.

• Site Analysis

Carry out an in depth site analysis to identify the areas that’s sunny and shady areas as well as the ones in between. This way, you can figure out the best place to put the plants and other items.

• Functional Diagrams

This is stage at which you go through both the site plan as well as site analysis and start to identify the right spots to position the landscape garden’s items.

• Planting Plan

Here, you’ll decide which plants you’ll like to use on your landscape garden while also identifying what plant goes where. You’ll have to draw them at size close to what they’ll grow to become, so as to ensure there’s sufficient space for them once they grow big and tall.
