Landscape design is the expression used for when features of land are changed, normally in order to make it more appealing or practical. Parts that may be landscaped include gardens, fences, structures and structures.

Some of the very popular reasons behind having an area landscaped include bettering the initial impression of your property, improving health benefits as well as adding value to your home.

A highly maintained landscape will increase the value of your house, whilst badly maintained gardens will see a decrease and put off potential buyers. Also, with a number of trees, shrubs and plants you'll be able to improve air quality and your body's healthiness.

A beautiful garden should help ease the pressures of the day whenever you come back from work in the evening. A well-kept garden is an excellent place to relax during the summer and may allow you to unwind after having a busy day.

We will provide you with up to 4 landscaping professionals near you, who will offer quotations for the work you would like done. You'll receive a house visit from professionals in Calne who'll help you make a decision on the right design for your property just before completing the project.

Landscaping can take any amount of time, based on the size of your land and what you wish to have completed.

Calne

Calne is a town and civil parish in Wiltshire, southwestern England, at the north western edge of the North Wessex Downs hill range. A designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Calne is positioned on a little river, the Marden, that rises 2 miles (3 kilometres) away in the Wessex Downs, and it is the only town on that river. As recorded in the 2011 Census, Calne had a permanent resident population of about 17,274 residents. Ever since the late 1990s, Calne expanded quickly in contrast to most other towns in the South West region. The Lansdowne Park property development, finalised at the end of 2008, has significantly increased the physical scale of the town, developing a completely new north-western suburb. This consists of a brand-new primary school, a medical centre and a modest shopping area including a mix of shops. This kind of redevelopment has attracted professional workers from historically more prosperous areas like Bath, Bristol, Marlborough and as far afield as the 'silicon valley' towns of main Berkshire. Remarkable buildings in the town include St Mary's Church, an array of homes on The Green, and the town hall. Of particular note is Calne Library, opened by the Queen in 2001, which has won accolades for its groundbreaking design. Since the demolition of the Harris pork factory and the conclusion of the initial phase of redevelopment regeneration in 2001, Calne has seen Cotswold stone, just like local limestone, being chosen along with smart red brickwork, formerly saved for fine historic buildings. For all your home improvements, make sure to make employ of reputable specialists in Calne to be sure of a fantastic quality service at a competitive price.

FAQs

Do I need a gardener or landscaper?

Do I Need A Gardener Or Landscaper?

This is a question that’s often asked by most homeowners across the globe. While it’s true that both gardener and landscaper can make your garden a lot more beautiful and pleasing to the eye, it’s also crucial to know the significant difference between the two professions.

So who is a landscaper? We have two types of landscapers: the landscape architect whose job is to design a landscape and a landscape builder whose job is to do the physical requirements of creating a landscape. Both types are very interrelated such that landscape architects can also be landscape builders or have one or more of the other type in same team (as most landscaping building projects will be supervised by a landscape architect).

Now the main difference between a landscaper and a gardener is the type or scope of work they’re qualified to undertake. Generally, landscapers require just one or more types of trade licences to work, meanwhile a gardener may or may not need a trade licence. So who is a gardener?

It’s the job of a gardener to come in and maintain the landscape garden once the landscape has successfully built the outdoor area. In other words, it’s part of a gardener’s services to prune plants, mow the lawns, do the weeding, fertilize your soil and much more. It’s not their job to construct a large retaining wall or a gazebo. And you can also be sure they won’t appear with a backhoe ready to sculpt your landscape.

Overall, deciding who to choose between a gardener and a landscape depends on the type or scope of work that’s required. With the aforementioned differences, you should be able to easily determine who to call when in need of a landscaping or gardening service.

How to plan a landscape garden?

How To Plan A Landscape Garden

If you’ve decided to go for a landscape garden, this might imply putting in new gardens entirely or probably just coming up with a planting plan for the current year. However, because you want a beautiful landscape garden doesn’t mean you can just go out, get a couple of plants and decide to plant them anywhere that looks good to you once you get home.

For a much better landscape garden, doing some proper landscape garden planning can go a long way to help you get the results you desire. So how do you plan a landscape garden?

• Set Goals

The first step is to determine how you want the garden to feel and look, how it’s going to be used or what’s going to be used for as well as how you’ll work to boost the small ecosystem.

• Site Plan

Identify what you already have on the site like the plants, paths, gardens etc, and draw them out perhaps on a graph paper. Once done, you can make some photocopies and start playing with different ideas.

• Site Analysis

Carry out an in depth site analysis to identify the areas that’s sunny and shady areas as well as the ones in between. This way, you can figure out the best place to put the plants and other items.

• Functional Diagrams

This is stage at which you go through both the site plan as well as site analysis and start to identify the right spots to position the landscape garden’s items.

• Planting Plan

Here, you’ll decide which plants you’ll like to use on your landscape garden while also identifying what plant goes where. You’ll have to draw them at size close to what they’ll grow to become, so as to ensure there’s sufficient space for them once they grow big and tall.

What do landscape gardeners charge?

What Do Landscape Gardeners Charge?

If you’ve decided to hire a landscaping professional for your gardening, you’ll probably be wondering how much it’s going to cost so you can start planning. A landscape garden serves a wide range of purposes from beautification of your surrounding and building to serving as a perfect spot for family and friends’ get-togethers and to brighten up one’s life. However, we must also note that the garden landscaping does not come cheap. In order to make it look great and send a clear message, there’s need for a effective and careful planning as well as consideration which perfectly combines both beauty and utility ( as not every landscaping idea works perfectly for every house). So just how much will landscape gardeners charge?

Just like most home improvement efforts, the cost of landscape gardening is influenced by a wide array of factors. These factors include the scope of the project, the size of the garden, the type of material and size of your patio, the cost of the plants and mulches, the professional daily or hourly rate as well as the unique treatment of the aesthetics of planting.

In general, landscape gardeners can charge as little as a price ranging from £15 to £20 and £45 per hour greatly influenced by the location as well as the gardening services required. As a daily rate, professional gardeners tend to charge about £140 to £200 per day. However, it should be noted that the major factors influencing the price that a gardener will charge is based on the area you live in as well as the size of your garden. For instance, if you live in an area with higher demands like London, you can expect to be charged a lot more than anywhere else.

Does landscaping a garden add value?

Does Landscaping A Garden Add Value?

When taking a good look at the image of new homes or perhaps you’re just thinking about getting one, one thing that several people will look out for is the garden. The thought of owning a perfect little oasis is all homeowners’ dream.

In a recent study conducted by Rightmove, it was discovered that to more than 60% of home buyers, an access to a garden was a priority. And according to the Royal Chartered Institute of Surveyors, this demand for garden is set to grow by 20% over the next 2 years.

Therefore, it’s obvious that having a beautiful landscaped garden is always a great asset to possess. But exactly how much value does a garden add to a property?

According to the studies carried out by Foxtons, it’s suggested that a garden can add as much as 20% to any property’s value, however, it should be expected that this value can vary based on a number of factors. In urban locations such as London, where there’s really not much outdoor space, possessing a garden can add an enormous amount to your property’s value.

However, if you happen to live in sub urban areas such as Wilmslow, where almost every home possesses a garden, what will influence the amount of value a garden will add to your property depends on it’s size as well as it’s unique features.

What’s more? Another important influence of a garden’s added value is the time of the season in which you’re selling your property. For more value, the best time to sell is always in the spring or summer when there are several gardens in bloom and multiple colours to please the eye. However, when it’s autumn and winter, the idea of staying outdoors for a quick get together or gardening is always very far, hence the value that’ll be added at this point may be low.
