Landscaping in Broadstone

In search of landscaping professionals in Broadstone? Our landscape design professionals in Broadstone can offer you the ideal quotations for having specialist landscaping carried out.

Landscape design is the term used for when features of land are altered, frequently so that they can ensure it is more pleasing or practical. Places which might be landscaped include gardens, fences, buildings and structures.

Several of the very popular reasons behind having an area landscaped include improving the first impression of your house, improving health benefits and also adding value to your property.

A highly maintained landscape will raise the value of your home, whilst badly maintained gardens will see a decrease and put off potential customers. In addition, with a range of trees, shrubs and plants you'll manage to enhance air quality as well as your body's healthiness.

A beautiful garden can help ease the challenges of the day when you return from work in the evening. A well-kept garden is a great place to relax in the summertime and can make it easier to unwind following a busy day.

We can provide you up to 4 landscaping professionals in the area, who'll supply quotes for the work you'd like done. You'll receive a property visit from professionals in Broadstone who'll help you choose the right design for your property just before finishing the project.

Landscaping may take any period of time, depending on the size of your land and what you need carried out.

Broadstone

Broadstone is a town and suburb of Poole in Dorset, England. It is situated 3 miles (4.8 kilometres) from Hamworthy railway station and 7 miles (11 km) from Bournemouth International Airport. Since 1840, it has expanded from a modest farm to a suburb. In 1840, 'Broadstone Farm' was established, and a railway line bypassed it in 1847. Its first church was opened in 1853, which later became the Scout hall. The first railway station was built in 1872 and named 'New Poole Junction' and, after numerous name revisions, became "Broadstone" in 1890. Broadstone First School originated as a Dame school, founded in 1871. At the beginning of the twentieth century, lavender oil began being made in Broadstone. This stopped in 1935 when the factory burnt down, but a great deal of lavender can nevertheless be found around the area. Substantial growth of the town has occurred, particularly with the establishment of the Pine Springs housing estate as well as the building of more schools to cope with the increase in population. As recorded in the 2011 Census, the town features a population of about 10,300, which has grown slightly from the 10,256 residents recorded in the 2001 Census. Centred around the main road (the B3074), 'The Broadway' is a bustling hub of shops, churches, schools and housing. The shops consist of both local and national chain retailers, as well as cafes and restaurants. Broadstone is well known for its big recreation fields and heathland park, along with a yearly Christmas parade and lights. The 24 acres of Broadstone Heath are some of the traditional heathland which covered the Poole Basin. For all your house improvements, be certain that you use vetted pros in Broadstone to ensure that you get a fantastic quality service.

FAQs

What do landscape gardeners charge?

What Do Landscape Gardeners Charge?

If you’ve decided to hire a landscaping professional for your gardening, you’ll probably be wondering how much it’s going to cost so you can start planning. A landscape garden serves a wide range of purposes from beautification of your surrounding and building to serving as a perfect spot for family and friends’ get-togethers and to brighten up one’s life. However, we must also note that the garden landscaping does not come cheap. In order to make it look great and send a clear message, there’s need for a effective and careful planning as well as consideration which perfectly combines both beauty and utility ( as not every landscaping idea works perfectly for every house). So just how much will landscape gardeners charge?

Just like most home improvement efforts, the cost of landscape gardening is influenced by a wide array of factors. These factors include the scope of the project, the size of the garden, the type of material and size of your patio, the cost of the plants and mulches, the professional daily or hourly rate as well as the unique treatment of the aesthetics of planting.

In general, landscape gardeners can charge as little as a price ranging from £15 to £20 and £45 per hour greatly influenced by the location as well as the gardening services required. As a daily rate, professional gardeners tend to charge about £140 to £200 per day. However, it should be noted that the major factors influencing the price that a gardener will charge is based on the area you live in as well as the size of your garden. For instance, if you live in an area with higher demands like London, you can expect to be charged a lot more than anywhere else.

Do I need a gardener or landscaper?

Do I Need A Gardener Or Landscaper?

This is a question that’s often asked by most homeowners across the globe. While it’s true that both gardener and landscaper can make your garden a lot more beautiful and pleasing to the eye, it’s also crucial to know the significant difference between the two professions.

So who is a landscaper? We have two types of landscapers: the landscape architect whose job is to design a landscape and a landscape builder whose job is to do the physical requirements of creating a landscape. Both types are very interrelated such that landscape architects can also be landscape builders or have one or more of the other type in same team (as most landscaping building projects will be supervised by a landscape architect).

Now the main difference between a landscaper and a gardener is the type or scope of work they’re qualified to undertake. Generally, landscapers require just one or more types of trade licences to work, meanwhile a gardener may or may not need a trade licence. So who is a gardener?

It’s the job of a gardener to come in and maintain the landscape garden once the landscape has successfully built the outdoor area. In other words, it’s part of a gardener’s services to prune plants, mow the lawns, do the weeding, fertilize your soil and much more. It’s not their job to construct a large retaining wall or a gazebo. And you can also be sure they won’t appear with a backhoe ready to sculpt your landscape.

Overall, deciding who to choose between a gardener and a landscape depends on the type or scope of work that’s required. With the aforementioned differences, you should be able to easily determine who to call when in need of a landscaping or gardening service.

Does landscaping a garden add value?

Does Landscaping A Garden Add Value?

When taking a good look at the image of new homes or perhaps you’re just thinking about getting one, one thing that several people will look out for is the garden. The thought of owning a perfect little oasis is all homeowners’ dream.

In a recent study conducted by Rightmove, it was discovered that to more than 60% of home buyers, an access to a garden was a priority. And according to the Royal Chartered Institute of Surveyors, this demand for garden is set to grow by 20% over the next 2 years.

Therefore, it’s obvious that having a beautiful landscaped garden is always a great asset to possess. But exactly how much value does a garden add to a property?

According to the studies carried out by Foxtons, it’s suggested that a garden can add as much as 20% to any property’s value, however, it should be expected that this value can vary based on a number of factors. In urban locations such as London, where there’s really not much outdoor space, possessing a garden can add an enormous amount to your property’s value.

However, if you happen to live in sub urban areas such as Wilmslow, where almost every home possesses a garden, what will influence the amount of value a garden will add to your property depends on it’s size as well as it’s unique features.

What’s more? Another important influence of a garden’s added value is the time of the season in which you’re selling your property. For more value, the best time to sell is always in the spring or summer when there are several gardens in bloom and multiple colours to please the eye. However, when it’s autumn and winter, the idea of staying outdoors for a quick get together or gardening is always very far, hence the value that’ll be added at this point may be low.

How to landscape a garden?

How To Landscape A Garden

Are you thinking about landscaping your garden? Well, not only will this make your property more visually appealing, but can also go a long way to add value to it. Landscaping a garden can be a very difficult project which should be left to a reliable professional who can guarantee the best results the first time, especially if you lack proper training or experience in the field. This way, you get to save time and extra money that can result due to possible costly mistakes. However, if you’re confident enough about your skills, here’s a step by step guide to help you through the garden landscaping process.

• Start from the front yard. This is the first place you’ll see when you get home and visitors will admire when they stop by.

• Hardscape first. Tackle all the handscaping projects before setting out the plants. The hardscapes include the sidewalk, drive way, porch, decks, fencing and the likes.

• Toil in the soil. When it’s time for the garden, you can start by amending your soil with organic matter before you set out the plants.

• Plan next to your house. When it comes to landscaping a garden, functionality is just as important as the beauty. With that in mind, never allow your foundation planting to cover your house, but to embrace it.

• Selecting the right plants. Study the landscape, observe when the sun rises and sets and determine the best plants for those conditions, you can consult with a local garden centre for more information.

• Plant shapes and textures. You can include some design elements to your landscape simply by taking advantage of the plants’ shape and texture.

• Finishing touches. These includes adding stuffs like containers, window boxes, hanging baskets both to add a little more functionality and a bit more colour to your landscape.

• Maintenance. To enjoy your beautiful landscape for a longer period, it has to be maintained.
