West Byfleet
West Byfleet is a town in Surrey which grew up around its relatively small stop on the London & South Western Railway: the station, initially Byfleet and also Woodham, opened in 1887. More than 1 mile (1.6 km) from the middle ages village of Byfleet, the initial concentration of a new development soon established its own economic situation in addition to that of a dependent London commuter village and spread in most directions to its borders including to the boundary of the old settlement, split by the secured London Orbital motorway today. The starting point of prayer was committed in 1912, the parish of West Byfleet associated with it was developed in 1917. The village is bounded to the north by the Basingstoke Canal and to the eastern by the M25 and the Wey Navigation Canal. Forming part of the contiguous development centred on London as well as its 'stockbroker belt' simply outside the M25 motorway, it is 8 miles from London Heathrow and also equidistant between business parks of Woking as well as Brooklands. In city government it forms a ward on the exact same basis as its church in the Borough of Woking.
