Blandford Forum
Blandford Forum, generally Blandford, is a market town in the North Dorset area of Dorset, England, sited by the River Stour regarding 13 mi (21 km) northwest of Poole. It was the management headquarters of North Dorset District Council until April 2019, when district councils merged to come to be Dorset County Council. Blandford is significant for its Georgian architecture, the outcome of reconstructing after most of the town was destroyed by a fire in 1731. The restoring work was assisted by an Act of Parliament and a contribution by George II, as well as the rebuilt community centre-- to styles by local architects John as well as William Bastard-- has made it through to the here and now day largely undamaged. Blandford Camp, an armed forces base, is sited on the hills two miles to the north east of the town.
