Kyle of Lochalsh is a village in the historical county of Ross-shire on the northwest coastline of Scotland, situated around 55 miles (90 kilometres) west-southwest of Inverness. It is located on the Lochalsh peninsula, at the entryway to Loch Alsh, opposite the village of Kyleakin on the Isle of Skye. A ferryboat used to connect both villages up until it was replaced by the Skye Bridge, regarding a mile (1.6 kilometres) to the west, in 1995. The village is the transport as well as mall for the area as well as having a harbour as well as marina with pontoons for maritime visitors.
