Burglar alarms come in many different types. Some, such as bell-only alarms, just ring when it detects an intruder. These are the most installed but rely on someone hearing the alarm and calling the police for the intruder to be caught. However, if you are in a low crime area, it may be worth saving the cost of a monitoring system, as just the apperance of a burglar is usually enough to deter a burglar. If this does not seem like enough protection, a dialler intruder alarm can be a suitable alternative. If this alarms, not only will the alarm sound, but you or a family member will be notified. Additional detectors can also be used to detect floods or fires. However, if none of your nominated receivers are available, or you have too weak a mobile signal, then the system is not better than a bell-only alarm. For increased security, smart-home systems can be installed. These send updates via an app to the user’s mobile phone. Though highly customisable and secure, these are very expensive. Also, as with the dialler system, it will not work properly without a strong connection. If signal is likely to be an issue, then a burglar alarm monitoring contract can be taken out. This will either contact the police, or a nominated keyholder, if there was a break-in. If neither can be reached, the company itself will come to check the property. Though the most secure of all the systems, it is also the most expensive. Then, there is a choice between wired or wireless alarms. Wireless systems use battery powered sensors to communicate with the main panel, and arguably are more aesthetically pleasing. However, this comes at a cost, as these alarms are normally more expensive and batteries are needed for all components.

Bellingham

Bellingham is a district in south east London, in the London Borough of Lewisham. Its neighbouring districts are Catford, Downham and Sydenham. The Ravensbourne River runs through the middle of Bellingham, and to the east and west it is bordered by railway lines running south from Catford.

The real name Bellingham means ‘the water-meadow belonging to Beora’s people’, and was the name of the medieval manor in the region. The real name was preserved by the farm in the region, Bellingham Railway Station and the Bellingham Estate. Additional historical names have been preserved by the street brands of the estate, which are linked with King Alfred, who was thought to have been the lord of the manor of Lewisham, and were taken from the true names of mills, houses and areas in the certain area.

Bellingham was farmland until the Bellingham Estate was built, between 1920 and 1923. London City Council built about 2600 houses and flats during this time period. Bellingham Estate was one of many large estates built by London City Council following the First World War to aid with slum clearance and reduce overcrowding. As there was plenty of land available most of the dwellings constructed were two-story homes, and there was plenty of green, open space.

Today, Bellingham is a localised town centre. Its high street is Randlesdown Road, which has a supermarket, a gym, hairdressers and multiple restaurants and food outlets. It has a sixth form college also, and a church and a library. Bellingham boasts many famous past and present residents, like the singer/song-writer Kate Bush, the former Labour Prime Minister James Callaghan, and the footballer Ian Wright.

They work with various applications and you get to determine the action to be made in the event whereby the protected zone is violated and system triggered.

Intruder Alarm Systems come in three main types which includes:

• The Bells-Only Intruder Alarm System - Whenever there is a violation, the only action would be to trigger the alarm, nothing more.

• The Communicators - These alarm systems are basically speech dialers which automatically sends a message to various selected number whenever there is an intrusion.

• Monitored Systems - Here, the monitoring centre would be alerted once there is a breach in security.

lSensing of motion. The systems usually feature door and window sensors which detects any contact of the door/window in the frame when shut. There are also the motion sensors which can be strategically stationed across the property to detect any motion and possible breach of security.

lTriggering of the control panel. The system is interconnected, and all components are linked to a control panel where all detectors’ and sensors’ generated informations are relayed. The alarm countdown is activated in the event whereby a contact is made and circuit impacted.

lSounding of the alarm - Once the alarm countdown has been initiated, failure to insert an abort code will ultimately sound the alarm. The external sounder that comes with the system produces a loud sound to notify people about the security breach or intrusion. There is also an interior sounder which works to bring the presence of an intruder to the awareness of the occupants.

lDeactivating the alarm. With the control panel, users can easily activate/deactivate the alarm system via a fob, code or selected smartphone apps. Click on the link to learn more about intruder alarm systems - https://alarm.quotatis.co.uk/3-ways-home-security-systems-keep-safe/
