Kidwelly
Kidwelly is a community and also community in Carmarthenshire, southwest Wales, roughly 7 miles (11 kilometres) northwest of the most populous town in the region, Llanelli. In the 2001 census the area of Kidwelly returned a population of 3,289, enhancing to 3,523 at the 2011 Census. It rests on the River Gwendraeth over Carmarthen Bay. Local destinations consist of Kidwelly Castle, established in 1106; a fourteenth-century bridge and also gateway; the former quay (now a nature book); a Norman parish church, as well as a commercial gallery. Kidwelly Circus is a yearly occasion hung on the second Saturday of July. Previous carnivals have included airborne display screens. The town is twinned with French village Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer on the north coast of Brittany.
