Forest Row
Forest Row is a town and relatively big civil parish in the Wealden District of East Sussex, England. The town lies 3 miles (5 km) south-east of East Grinstead. A selecting ward in the very same name exists. The population of this ward taken at the 2011 Census was 5,278. The town draws its name from its distance to the Ashdown Forest, a royal hunting park initial confined in the 13th century. From its beginnings as a small hamlet, Forest Row has actually expanded, initially with the establishment of a turnpike road in the 18th century; and later on with the opening of the railway between East Grinstead as well as Tunbridge Wells in 1866; the line, which included an intermediate station at Forest Row, closed in 1967 as a result of the program of closures put forward by East Grinstead local and British Railways Board Chairman Richard Beeching.
