Steyning
Steyning is a little country town and civil parish in the Horsham District of West Sussex, England. It lies at the north end of the River Adur space in the South Downs, 4 miles (6.4 kilometres) north of Shoreham-by-Sea. The smaller towns of Bramber as well as Upper Beeding comprise, with Steyning, a built-up area at this crossing-point of the river. The parish has an acreage of 1,574 hectares (3,890 acres). In the 2001 census 5,812 individuals resided in 2,530 homes, of whom 2,747 were economically energetic. In Steyning there is access to a range of facilities including four public houses, the award-winning Steyning Tea Rooms, 4 estate representatives and barclays bank. There is a leisure centre, which was developed with National Lotto funding. It has a modern-day wellness centre, a public library and also the Steyning Gallery. A springtime fair is held on the Spring bank holiday (the last Monday in May), The Monarch's Way long-distance footpath skirts the southerly end of the town.
