Newcastle Emlyn
Newcastle Emlyn is a community on the River Teifi, straddling the areas of Ceredigion as well as Carmarthenshire in West Wales. It is also a community entirely within Carmarthenshire, bordered by those of Llangeler and Cenarth, also in Carmarthenshire, as well as by Llandyfriog in Ceredigion. Adpar is the part of community on the Ceredigion side of the River Teifi. It was previously called Trefhedyn as well as was an ancient Welsh borough in its very own right. The location including Adpar had a population of 1,883 according to the 2011 census. In 1932, the former Co-operative Group creamery was reopened by Dried Milk Products to make cheese. After new moms and dad Unigate determined to sell-off its non-milk relevant dairies, it was then bought by the Milk Marketing Board in 1979, and also closed once more in 1983. Resumed by Saputo, it today produces mozzarella cheese using locally sourced milk fruit and vegetables, and is the town's largest company.
